WYOMING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The City of Wyoming Department of Public Safety have confirmed that they found a man, a woman, and two girls fatally shot early Tuesday morning, May 31.
The discovery was made after a family member of the victims had called police after going inside the residence in the 2100 block of Godfrey Avenue Southwest.
Authorities say the incident occurred around 4 a.m. and believe it to be a possible murder suicide where the man killed the three females before killing himself.
Police say that the family member who reported the incident had a conversation with the suspect over the phone, grew concerned, and went to the home where they discovered what happened.
Wyoming Police Chief Kim Koster confirmed during a news conference that the woman who was killed was the suspect’s girlfriend and the two children, ages 11 and 13, were hers.
Three other children, ages 9, 2, and 5, were present in the house during the incident but were not harmed, according to Wyoming Department of Public Safety.
The youngest two children were the suspect’s and his girlfriend’s children.
