TRAVERSE CITY MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A debate held with several Republican candidates for Michigan governor featured a discussion prompted by the recent tragedy in Uvalde, TX.
The six participants presented differing ideas on how to deal with the situation…but all agreed that the basic concept was that schools need more guns in order to protect students.
An MLive report indicated that possible solutions put forth were allowing teachers to be armed, putting more law enforcement officers in school buildings, possibly installing metal detectors, and permitting just one point of entry to a school.
Tudor Dixon, Ryan Kelley, Michael Markey Jr., Ralph Rebandt, Kevin Rinke and Garrett Soldano attended Saturday’s debate in Traverse City.
