DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Tigers are celebrating a series sweep after topping the Baltimore Orioles 5-1 in the finale of their three-game set Sunday afternoon.
Tarik Skubal was credited with the win after pitching six scoreless innings. Skubal is now 3-and-2 on the mound this season.
Miguel Cabrera led the way at the plate for Detroit after going two-for-three with a solo home run and two runs batted in.
Tyler Wells saw his record drop to 1-and-3 after he allowed three runs over four innings in the loss. Trey Mancini went deep in the ninth inning for his third home run of the year.
Baltimore is now 14-and-21 while the Tigers’ record improved to 12-and-23. Detroit will visit the Tampa Bay Rays this evening.
