MINNEAPOLIS, MN (WKZO AM/FM) – Joe Ryan continues to be dominant in the first month of the season.
The Minnesota Twins starting pitcher gave up just one hit and struck out nine in seven scoreless innings in a 5-0 win over the Detroit Tigers at Target Field Wednesday night. Ryan improved to 3-and-1 with the win.
Max Kepler went deep twice, and Ryan Jeffers also added a home run and three RBI. Minnesota has won its last six games.
The Tigers have lost four in-a-row. Michael Pineda was tagged with the loss for Detroit after allowing four runs in five innings of work against his former team. Detroit looks to stop a four game losing streak in today’s series finale.
