DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Detroit Tigers designated hitter Miguel Cabrera has been named American League co-Player of the Week after collecting his 3,000th hit over the weekend.
Cabrera went 7-for-18 at the plate, including his historic hit Saturday.
This marks the 16th time he has been named player of the week. He shares the honor with Seattle Mariners first baseman Ty France who batted .500 last week with three home runs and 10 RBI.
