UNDATED (WHTC-AM/FM, Apr. 25, 2022) – A couple of municipal entities hold meetings on this Monday.
In a noontime session at the Port Sheldon Township Hall, the policy board of the Macatawa Area Coordinating Council will be going over a Watershed Resilience Plan, which is part of Project Clarity aimed at refreshing the waters of the Macatawa River and Lake Macatawa, and looking at a proposed budget for Fiscal 2023. The board will also express its appreciation for Port Sheldon Township Supervisor Howard Baumann, who is retiring. An open house is planned for Wednesday afternoon at 4 PM, also at the Township Hall.
In its 7 PM biweekly business meeting, the Saugatuck City Council is expected to give its OK for several annual events to take place, including the Venetian Festival and the Waterfront Invitational Fine Art and Craft Fair. The governing panel will also vote on renewing the city’s agreement with the Allegan County Sheriff’s Department for police services, a pact that began four years ago when Saugatuck opted out of a long-term deal with neighboring Douglas for handling law enforcement.
