CLEARWATER, FL (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Tigers improved to 5-5-and-2 in the Grapefruit League after a 7-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies yesterday.
Starter Tarik Skubal got the win after allowing three hits while striking out five in four scoreless innings.
Detroit visits the Toronto Blue Jays today.
Pitcher Michael Pineda is set to make his Tigers debut on Saturday against the Baltimore Orioles at Joker Marchant Stadium. Pineda has been waiting for his work visa to be approved so he could participate in Spring Training.
He is expected to begin the regular season with Triple-A Toledo to get ready for the 2022 campaign.
