KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — With Michigan’s economic numbers on the positive side, things are moving in the right direction according to the latest figures. One of them being the addition of jobs to the state over the past nine months.
Another, fixing the darned roads as Governor Gretchen Whitmer pledged to do, which is a key component of the state budget in which lawmakers are currently working on getting passed in June.
Michigan Lt. Governor Garlin Gilchrist is backing Governor Whitmer’s aggressive stance on securing robust funding for road repairs.
Gilchrist is stressing the importance of funding to not only get the roads fixed, but to get them fixed right.
Bottom line says Gilchrist, it’s all about safety.
Many road projects are already in the works for Kalamazoo County. A complete list of the current road projects can be viewed on the Michigan Department of Transportation’s website at michigan.gov/mdot.
