KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Michigan Department of Transportation MDOT is getting to work on a couple of major road projects beginning Monday, March 21st.
One of them is in Van Buren County with a $6.7 million dollar investment going towards the repaving of 2.6 miles if I-94 from west of the M-51 interchange to east of 40th Street.
Work will includes asphalt repaving, ramp rebuilding at the M-51 interchange, median shoulder widening, drainage, median cable barrier, guardrail, new signs, and pavement markings. This project is expected to be completed Friday, July 22.
And in Calhoun County, MDOT is investing another $2.1 million to repair the I-69 bridges over the St. Joseph River and Jackson River Drive over I-69.
Work there will include concrete repaving, deck patching, joint replacement, beam end repair, pin and hanger replacement, painting, and approach work.
This project scheduled to be completed by Wednesday, August 31.
MDOT officials say motorists should expect intermittent lane closures, delays, and possible detours during these times.
