LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Governor Whitmer is proposing a $74.1 billion budget for fiscal year 2022-2023.
The budget includes over $18 billion for K-12 school funding that will pay for raises, recruitment and training of new teachers and provide better access to special education and counselors.
Republicans in the Michigan House and Senate will now work on their own budget plans and work on merging them with Whitmer’s proposals.
