HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jan. 25, 2022) – A loose end on Hope College’s women’s basketball schedule that continues to dangle has apparently been tied up – again.
The Holland school had announced on Monday that the January 22nd contest with visiting Alma, which was postponed earlier in the week due to COVID 19 health protocols, had been rescheduled for Thursday, Feburary 3.
The next day, Hope officials said that the contest was re-rescheduled for Monday, February 7, with no official reason given by either school. The game will tip off at 7:30 PM, and broadcast coverage on 99 7/1450 WHTC is 7:10 PM.
This was the fourth game on the Flying Dutch schedule this season to be affected by a postponement. A December 28 date with Illinois College in Orlando was moved to January 6th in Holland, but that non-league contest was put on hold due to COVID 19 health protocols involving the Orange and Blue and may not be rescheduled for a third time. Those protocols also postponed a MIAA match with visiting Olivet set for January 8th; the Comets did come to DeVos Fieldhouse nine nights later and fell to Hope, 96-31, one of 61 straight victories posted by the Flying Dutch.
Hope’s men’s basketball team has had just one game postponed so far this season due to COVID 19 health protocols – a scheduled contest at Kalamazoo this Wednesday evening, with no make-up date yet to be announced.
