HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — State Rep Mary Whiteford’s husband, Kevin Whiteford, has declared his candidacy for the newly created 38th District State House of Representatives seat. The 80th District runs along the Lakeshore from New Buffalo and the state boundary with Indiana, to 136th Avenue, the northern border of Saugatuck Township.
The Casco Township Republican made the announcement Saturday to a group of about two dozen family members and friends, just outside of the financial advising and tax accounting business he owns in South Haven.
He would replace his term-limited wife, who was set to be in office representing the 80th District, until 2023.
