DEARBORN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Over three million Michigan residents are expected to travel between December 23 and January 2, according to a report from AAA Tuesday.
That is a 34% increase over the number who travelled last year. The vast majority of those who travel over the holidays will do so in a vehicle.
AAA of Michigan also says that prices for things such as fuel, hotels, and vehicle rentals are up from last year, and that on average, the worst time to travel via the road is the afternoon, with minimal traffic situations on both Christmas and New Year’s Day.
Overall in the U.S., the most popular destination over the holidays is Orlando, FL.
