JACKSON, MI (WTVB) – High winds Saturday morning knocked out power to thousands of Consumers Energy customers across Michigan, with the continued windy conditions hampering restoration efforts.
At midday Saturday the utility reported around 130,000 customers without power. Initial restoration estimates ranged from 2:15 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, but the Consumers Energy Outage Center website also said crews were finding more damage than anticipated, so that could delay restoration.
The Natiomal Weather said numerous spots in west Michigan had wind gusts in excess of 60 mph.
