DEARBORN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – AAA Michigan says gas prices in the state have decreased three cents compared to a week ago. Michigan drivers are now paying an average of $3.32 per gallon for regular unleaded.
That price is four cents more than this time last month and $1.37 more than this time last year.
Motorists are paying an average of $49 for a full 15-gallon tank of gasoline; an increase of about $10 from when prices were their highest last January.
“While crude oil prices dropped sharply after Thanksgiving, it may not immediately lead to lower pump prices,” said Adrienne Woodland, spokesperson, AAA-The Auto Club Group. “If crude bounces back near $80 a barrel, then gas prices will likely remain elevated.”
Compared to last week, Metro Detroit’s average daily gas price decreased slightly. Metro Detroit’s current average is $3.36 per gallon. This price is 1 cent less than last week’s average but still $1.37 more than this same time last year.
