HASTINGS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Police say a 17-year-old Hastings teen, whose body was found buried in a shallow grave behind his accused killer’s home, was shot to death by a crossbow.
Michigan State Police investigators confirmed to WWMT-TV Tuesday that Lane Roslund died after suffering an arrow wound to the chest.
Detectives discovered Roslund’s body October 14, 2021 in a Hastings Township wooded area behind the home of 17-year-old Patrick Gilmore, who was charged in Roslund’s death with open murder and concealing a body. They believe Roslund was shot sometime around September 14, 2021.
The TV station says court records provide few details about what led up to the killing or if the teens knew each other.
Gilmore is currently being held in the Barry County Jail and is scheduled to appear for a probable cause hearing in Barry County District Court November 24.
