NEW YORK, NY (WKZO AM/FM) – The Michigan State University men’s basketball team dropped their season opener 87-74 to number three Kansas last night in a Champions Classic matchup.
A.J. Hoggard led the Spartans with 17 points.
MSU takes on Western Michigan University at the Breslin Center Friday.
Eastern Michigan erased a 17 point half-time deficit but fell short in a 68-62 loss to Indiana last night. Noah Farrakhan led the Eagles with 18 points.
Javon Pickett scored 18 points and led five in double figures as Missouri pulled away late to beat Central Michigan 78-68 Tuesday night in the season opener for both teams. Jermaine Jackson Jr. made five 3-pointers and had 19 points and five assists to lead Central Michigan.
