DEARBORN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Gas prices in Michigan are now nearly $1.50 higher than they were at this time one year ago after a big jump at the pump last week. The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is now a whopping $3.43 in the state, 17 cents higher than just a month ago.
Motorists are paying an average of $51 for a full 15-gallon tank of gasoline; an increase of about $12 from when prices were their highest last January
The blame continues to be those high crude oil prices, along with a slight increase in demand for gasoline. AAA says low regional stock levels in the Midwest also put some pressure on prices at the pump in Michigan. They say they expect not much change in gas prices this week.
