ANN ARBOR, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Sixth-ranked University of Michigan puts its 6-and-0 college football record on the line when they host Northwestern at 12 noon tomorrow.
Number-seven Michigan State University heads into its bye week with a 7-and-0 record and will next host Michigan at Spartan Stadium next Saturday.
In the Mid American Conference, Western Michigan plays at Toledo, Eastern Michigan will be at Bowling Green while Central Michigan will host Northern Illinois.
U of M and Northwestern will be playing for a new football rivalry trophy when the teams kick off tomorrow. The programs will now compete annually for the George Jewett Trophy.
Jewett was the first African American to compete in the Big Ten. He played for Michigan in 1890 and 1892 before leaving for Northwestern in 1893 to finish his medical degree.
