GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — ArtPrize is being credited with giving downtown Grand Rapids businesses a financial boost this year. Sparks BBQ Grand Rapids had a big increase, according to general manager Michael Wheeler.
“We definitely saw a strong increase whether it be from 60 to 70 percent on a day-to-day basis which is phenomenal for us. Weekends were just on steroids, especially on days it was nice out.”
The Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce is gathering data about the event, and several restaurants say they had their best days in two or three years. ArtPrize was canceled in 2020 due to COVID-19.
