ANN ARBOR, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – It was a successful week for Michigan college football programs. The University of Michigan Wolverines got two touchdowns from Hassan Haskins in a 20-13 win over Rutgers. Michigan jumped five spots in the latest Coaches Poll rankings and are now the number-14 team in the country.
Michigan State University also jumped five spots to number-16 after a 23-20 overtime win over Nebraska. Both U of M and MSU are 4-0 on the season.
Eastern Michigan University dismantled Texas State 59-21, Western Michigan University defeated San Jose State 23-3 while Central Michigan University knocked off Florida International 31-27.
Two of college football’s biggest powers fell in the latest edition of the Coaches Poll. Clemson fell to number-19 in the poll after losing to North Carolina State in double overtime and Texas A&M dropped to number-13 after losing to Arkansas 20-10.
Alabama sits atop the poll, followed by Georgia at two, Oregon at three, Oklahoma at four and Iowa at five.
