DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Tigers have won the first two games of their series with the White Sox in Detroit, beating Chicago 5-3 Tuesday afternoon.
Akil Baddoo got the Tigers on the board with an RBI single in the third inning and then tied the game with his second hit of the day in the fourth.
Victor Reyes was four-for-four at the plate and also drove in a pair of runs. Bryan Garcia was credited with the win after pitching an inning-and-a-third of scoreless relief.
Jace Fry was tagged with his first loss of the season after allowing three runs in an inning-and-two-thirds of work. Yasmani Grandal was the only member of the White Sox to not register a hit.
Detroit is now 74-and-78 while Chicago slips to 85-and-66.
The Tigers go for the sweep in this afternoon’s series finale. The opening pitch is scheduled for 1:10 p.m.
