HOLLAND, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Ottawa County police have arrested a Holland man for a hit-and-run on Saturday, September 17.
The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office reports that the 29-year-old fled the scene after injuring a 95-year-old man, also of Holland, around 5 p.m. in the area of Douglass Avenue and Division Street in Holland Township.
Authorities report that a pickup truck, driven by the 29-year-old, pulled out of a driveway into the path of another car, driven by the 95-year-old on Division Street. Deputies were able to follow the pickup about a quarter mile down Division when it became disabled. The driver then fled on foot.
Thanks to witnesses, deputies were able to locate the pickup driver who was then taken into custody.
The other driver, the 95-year-old man from Holland, was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
