DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – As a part of its 75th anniversary celebration, Buddy’s Pizza announced a partnership with Griffin Claw Brewing Company on Monday, September 13.
The Anniversary Ale, brewed by Michigan-based brewery Griffin Claw, is a New England India Pale Ale (IPA), dry hopped with Nelson hops.
According to Buddy’s officials, the beer has a pillowy, smooth finish and hints of tropical juice, which is said to pair perfectly with Buddy’s limited time Oktoberfest and Hawaiian Spice pizzas.
“The new Anniversary Ale, brewed by Griffin Claw, is an exciting way to continue the celebration of our 75th anniversary this fall while engaging another Michigan-favorite brand,” chief operating officer of Buddy’s Pizza Katy Dean said in a statement. “Plus, the ale pairs perfectly with our two seasonal square pies, both created to satisfy fall food cravings.”
Dean adds that both pizzas are made with fresh dough in the infamous rectangular blue steel pans and baked until the edges of crumbled Wisconsin brick cheese are golden brown.
The Oktoberfest pizza features Italian sausage, caramelized onions, roasted red peppers, cheddar cheese and Buddy’s Sicilian Spice Blend. For spice lovers, the Hawaiian Spice pizza is topped with ham, diced pineapple, red onions, jalapenos and Buddy’s barbeque sauce.
The Anniversary Ale will be available through the end of 2021. The Oktoberfest and Hawaiian Spice pizzas will be available at all locations through October 31.
