DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Tigers and the Tampa Bay Rays begin a three-game series at Comerica Park tonight. Detroit is 66-75 on the season and in third place in the AL Central, while Tampa Bay leads the AL East with a record of 88-52. Matthew Boyd goes to the hill for the Tigers in the opener against the Rays’ Michael Wacha.
Meanwhile, Tigers broadcaster Jack Morris returns to the airwaves tonight after a 23-day suspension. Morris made an offensive comment toward Shohei Ohtani of the LA Angels during a game last month. He issued an apology later in the broadcast and was suspended the next day.
