PITTSBURGH, PA (WKZO AM/FM) – Detroit Tigers reliever Joe Jimenez and bench coach George Lombard are both positive for COVID-19.
The pair will be separately quarantined for at least 10 days because of their diagnosis.
Additionally, pitching coach Chris Fetter, quality control Josh Paul, and bullpen catcher Jeremy Carroll were all deemed close contacts to Jimenez and Lombard, and they will miss the rest of the Tigers’ series against Pittsburgh and their home series against Tampa Bay.
Both Jimenez and Lombard are fully vaccinated.
