KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Three people are in critical condition after a shooting that took place at a party near Western Michigan University Saturday morning.
KDPS officers responded to the 1500 block of Kickapoo Court around 3:15 a.m. near WMU Fraternity Village. Authorities say three victims were taken to the hospital and are listed in critical condition.
WMU Public Safety posted both a text message and a tweet at 3:43 a.m. for people to take caution should they be in that area.
The shooting suspect is described as a black male with unknown clothing but possibly wearing a ski mask. Police say the suspect was with two other black males, but that their clothing was unknow as well.
Authorities say the motive of the shooting is currently unknown. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety at 269-337-8120 or Silent Observer at 343-2100.
