HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Instead of using the term “abundance of caution,” Hope College calls its revised “face covering policy” for on-campus athletic events “a layer of mitigation to protect the Hope College community from the spread of COVID 19.”
Announced on Monday (Aug. 23, 2021), but implemented eight days earlier, the new guidelines are as follows:
- Face coverings by all applies to all indoor spaces, regardless of vaccination status, and for attending events held inside DeVos Fieldhouse; masks can be taken off for eating and drinking.
- No face coverings for fans attending events at the outdoor venues of Van Andel Soccer Stadium and Ray & Sue Smith Stadium
Attendance capacities at Hope facilities will not be limited or reduced. The policy will remain in effect indefinitely and is subject to change, based on local and college conditions.
