HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Marlena Pavlos Hackney still hopes to reopen her restaurant at 909 Lincoln Ave. in Holland, according to recent statements she’s posted on her restaurant’s Facebook page.
In one note, she said she’d passed the inspection and was looking to reopen after a state court date later this month. But Allegan County Health officials did not yet release the inspection details; they are typically posted on the Allegan County website, https://swordsolutions.com/inspections/?county_id=38.
Earlier this year, state officials suspended the restaurant’s food-service license, because Pavlos Hackney refused to follow pandemic guidelines. At least one person is believed to have gotten COVID-19 after dining at the restaurant. Pavlos Hackney was eventually arrested and jailed for refusing to follow the state’s order to stop operating her business, but released days later, after paying a $15,000 fine. Since that time, Pavlos Hackney has indicated she does plan to follow state rules. Her restaurant’s inspection record, prior to the pandemic, is almost spotless.
A GoFundMe account set up for her continues to garner donations, and has raised $330,352 of the $350,000 goal. She has a state court date later this month to determine the future of her restaurant.
