ANN ARBOR, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The University of Michigan athletic department is expecting a budget deficit of nearly $63 million for the current fiscal year due to COVID-19.
The deficit is attributed to fan reductions at events and reduced distributions from the Big Ten. However, the department is projecting a budget surplus of $1.4 million for the 2022 fiscal year.
