HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Detroit’s most-notorious mayor says he’s done with politics. Deadline Detroit is reporting that Kwame Kilpatrick, Detroit’s mayor from 2002 to 2008, says he plans to be a pastor.
After being convicted on two dozen federal felony charges and sentenced to 28 years behind bars, Kilpatrick saw his sentence commuted by President Donald Trump after serving eight years in prison.
Kilpatrick’s extensive conversation with Deadline Detroit covers everything from his Christian faith, his life behind bars and plans to remarry and enroll in theology classes this fall. He is set to preach at two Detroit churches on Sunday.
