The 2021 Holland Tulip Dig raised $12,500 “for a single-day, two-hour fundraiser, it was fast and furious,” said Hart.
The money could be used for adding infrastructure to Holland’s community gardens; a Women’s Literary Club partnership. Hope College’s Tree Sap program, which inventories Holland trees; and a memorial garden honoring the late Jodi Syens.
Hart said the leftover tulips are not eligible for sale.
“We did have a number of people reach out to our office, the Parks office and the City of Holland, but no,” she said, adding that people are welcome to come next year.
Tulip diggers paid $10 to fill a bucket with as many bulbs as they could dig up inside of two hours.
