HOLALND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Ottawa County Sheriff’s officials have released the names of the two drivers killed early Sunday morning in a crash on westbound M6, after confirmation by Ottawa County’s Medical Examiner officials.
Standish resident Charles Fletcher, 48, had been driving the semi-tractor trailer tanker, according to police, and Kentwood resident Lawrence Green, 58, had been driving the passenger car that hit the tanker. It’s unclear, police say, why the semi drifted off the road, but as Fletcher attempted to regain control and get back on the road, the semi flipped onto its side and Green’s car hit the tanker.
Both men died at the scene when their vehicles caught fire.
The crash remains under investigation.
