LANSING, MI (WJXQ) – Michiganders are planning to hit the road for Memorial Day this year in mass numbers after a full year of being cooped up at home.
AAA Michigan is estimating over one-million people will travel at least 50 miles from home, up 57-percent from last year due to COVID-19. Nationally, more than 37-million will travel, up 60-percent from 2020.
Gas prices are expected to be at over $3.00 a gallon by Memorial Day weekend due to the increased demand and disrupted delivery systems.
