DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Tigers earned a split of a seven-inning doubleheader with the Pittsburgh Pirates yesterday.
Detroit dropped the first game 3-2 with Michael Fulmer getting tagged with the loss.
The Tigers took the nightcap 5-2 to break a five-game losing skid and give Spencer Turnbull the win in his 2021 debut. The doubleheader was scheduled after Tuesday night’s game was postponed because of snow.
Jose Urena gets the start for Detroit against Pittsburgh’s Mitch Keller in this afternoon’s rubber match. The opening pitch is scheduled for 1:10 p.m.
