PORTAGE, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Debbie Stabenow is slated to get a first-hand look at the COVID 19 vaccine manufacturing process in southwest Michigan on Wednesday.
The senior US Senator from Michigan will tour the Pfizer plant in Portage that is one of the key centers for creating the vaccine, accompanied by US House Representative Fred Upton, who will use the occasion as a way to say thank you.
“I know that they are going at ‘warp speed’ to try and produce this,” the St. Joseph Republican said on “WHTC Morning News” in Holland during his weekly interview on Tuesday. “We now have to make sure that us, as individuals, take advantage of our place in line so that we can get that vaccination.”
Governor Whitmer had accompanied President Biden in a similar tour of that Pfizer facility in February.
