SAO PAULO (Reuters) – Executives at Brazilian meatpacker JBS SA anticipate strong demand for meat in China this year as the Asian country is gradually recovering its pork herd after an outbreak of African swine fever disrupted domestic production.
In a conference call to discuss fourth quarter results on Thursday, executives said it is not entirely clear when China will be able to fully recover its herd. The situation will benefit JBS’ meat exports from the United States and Brazil, executives said.
