HOLLAND, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Republican lawmakers gathered Monday in a show of support for a West Michigan restaurant owner jailed over numerous COVID-19 violations at her Holland restaurant.
55-year old Marlena Pavlos-Hackney owns Marlena’s Bistro and Pizzeria and was arrested Friday. It came weeks after she lost her food license and repeatedly refused to close the business. State Senator Aric Nesbitt went to support her outside the restaurant.
“Our left-wing Attorney General Dana Nessel refuses to investigate Governor Whitmers’ tragic nursing home policy, but is spending money going after this small business”
Investigators say Hackney had allowed indoor dining when it was banned and didn’t enforce mask rules or social distancing.
