INDIANAPOLIS, IN (WKZO AM/FM) – The University of Michigan looks to secure a spot in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament Sweet 16 tonight.
The top-seeded Wolverines take on eighth-seeded LSU in the second round of the East Region in Indianapolis. Michigan beat Texas Southern in the first round Saturday. Tonight’s game tips off at 7:10 p.m. EDT.
Tonight’s winner faces either Colorado or Florida State.
Day four of the NCAA Tournament saw several more upsets. Oral Roberts became just the second 15-seed ever to reach the Sweet 16 after knocking off seventh-seeded Florida 81-78. Elsewhere, eighth-seeded Loyola-Chicago stunned top-seeded Illinois 71-58.
Number-11 seed Syracuse topped third-seeded West Virginia 75-72 behind 25 points from Buddy Boeheim. The 12th-seeded Oregon State Beavers also advanced with an 80-70 victory over fourth-seeded Oklahoma State.
