HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Holland Openly Secular Alliance officials have announced the formation of small groups based on common interests. They are asking people interested in any of the following topics to join in, as part of HOSA’s effort toward building what they call “a loving secular community in Holland.”
Members of these small groups will be able to meet in-person with masks and social distancing, or online or in a combination of those methods. These groups are open to secular people as well as those affiliated with religious denominations who consider themselves allies to the secular community.
- After Religion: Post-Christian support, religious trauma support
- Milers: Walk, hike, roll, bike, etc. for 1 mile and more
- Secular Misterhood: Group for secular men
- Secular Sisterhood: Group for secular women
- Community Organizing: Promote secular values by working in our community
- Outdoor Adventures: Hike, disc golf, snowshoe, pickle ball, volleyball, kayaking, etc.
- Foodies: Recipe Swap, meal drop off for community members, cook together
- Book-A-Month: Vote on titles to read and discuss at the end of each month
- Secular Parents/Grandparents: Supporting parents promoting secular values
- Game Night: Board games, trivia, ping pong and more
- Stand for Peace: Centennial Park on River, meets at noon every Saturday
- Netflix & Chill: Choose a title, watch together at same time and chat online
- Writing Rights: Mutual aid in writing social issue-oriented letters for publications, social media post
- Crafting Crew: Knitting, crocheting, and more.
