BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – The City of Battle Creek has announced that the city’s Full Blast Recreation Center on Hamblin Avenue will reopen this Monday morning at 7:00 a.m. as allowed by State public health orders.
Hours will be from 7:00 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on weekends. Battle Creek Transit riders can, again, purchase passes at the front desk.
The fitness center will open, with workout equipment spaced farther apart. Visitors can rent and use the courts. Both the fitness center and courts will be limited to 25 percent capacity.
Full Blast will only hold non-contact sporting events at this time. Visitors to Full Blast must complete a COVID-19 health screening, allow staff to take their temperature, practice social distancing and follow signage, wear a mask at all times and bring their own water bottle.
While Full Blast will reopen on Monday, other Battle Creek city facilities will remain closed to the public during the month of February. That includes City Hall, the Battle Creek Police Department and the Department of Public Works. Staff members will continue to provide services by phone and email, online, and by the drop box in the City Hall parking lot.
