Elaine Brower, 85, of Oakland, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021.
Elaine was born July 20, 1935, in Grand Rapids, to William and Grace (Meyers) Duimstra. She was a longtime member of Oakland Christian Reformed Church. Elaine married Roger D. Brower in 1959 and they raised their four children on the family farm in Oakland. Elaine cared deeply about her family and her faith life. Her joy was caring for her grandchildren, volunteering at church, attending Bible study, and working at Bibles for Mexico. Elaine always enjoyed working with her friends planting at the greenhouse. She impacted people’s daily lives more than she will ever know. Elaine will be dearly missed…
She is survived by her children: Sally (Kurt) Post, Patti (Jamie) Callahan, Julie (John) Vander Woude, Dean (Deb) Brower, twelve grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, brothers: Gordon (Connie) Duimstra, William (Sharon) Duimstra; sisters-in-law Alma Jean (Jim) Keppel, Dorothy Brower, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A family funeral service in honor of Elaine Brower will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at Oakland Christian Reformed Church. Interment will be in Bentheim Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Christian Services. Arrangements by the Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State Street, Zeeland.
