ALLEN PARK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Matthew Stafford’s ankle injury is not considered serious. He left after four plays in the Detroit Lions’ 47-7 loss to the Tampa bay Buccaneers Saturday. NFL Network reports the ankle sprain is not deemed too serious.
Whether Stafford plays in the season finale against the Vikings is still up in the air. The Detroit QB is already dealing with partially torn ligaments in his hand and rib cartilage damage.
Jamal Agnew returned a punt 74 yards for the lone Lions’ touchdown in the loss to the Buccaneers. By the time Agnew scored in the third quarter, Tampa Bay was up 40-0. The porous Detroit defense yielded 588 yards. It was the Lions’ worst home loss since 1993.
Detroit dropped to 5-and-10.
