ALLEGAN/HASTINGS/PAW PAW (WKZO AM/FM) – A coalition of county road commissions has been formed to help keep area roads clear in light of the pandemic.
The 14-member group includes Allegan, Barry, and Van Buren Counties, and is set up to ensure that roads in those counties are plowed and cleared, even if there is a COVID-19 outbreak among workers in a location.
If that occurred, the member counties would assist in clearing primary roads there.
Drivers from other counties wouldn’t be asked to clear roads that they wouldn’t know about.
In addition, the state department of transportation also has a plan in place regarding the possibility of an outbreak in a specific county or area.
