NEWAYGO MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A federal court judge has declined to issue a restraining order to stop the three week ban on indoor dining.
Judge Paul Maloney in Kalamazoo said Friday that the order would be inappropriate, as the state has not responded to a lawsuit filed by the Michigan Restaurant and Lodging Association to overturn the ban.
One restaurant in Newaygo is defying the ban, as it remains open to customers eating indoors.
Jimmy’s Roadhouse is continuing to operate normally, despite the three-week ban put in place Wednesday.
The restaurant also hosted a “Stand Up Michigan” rally Friday to protest the ban.
