LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A Michigan lawmaker is now calling for impeachment hearings for Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
Republican State Representative Matt Maddock of Milford, in a tweet Sunday night, said he and other state legislators decided the governor crossed the line, alleging she took actions that they said violated Michiganders’ rights.
On his personal Facebook page, Maddock says Whitmer ignored court orders, violated constitutional rights, and ignored due process.
He also listed fellow lawmakers State Representatives Daire Rendon, Beau LaFave, and Ryan Berman, Shane Hernandez, incoming legislators Ken Borton, and Steve Carra, and Senators Dan Lauwers and Lana Theis as a growing list of legislators that are calling for impeachment hearings for Governor Whitmer.
Maddock’s call comes after new COVID-19 restrictions were issued by the the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Sunday.
