WASHINGTON (Reuters) – A U.S. judge on Tuesday ordered the U.S. Postal Service to conduct a sweep of some processing facilities this afternoon to ensure no ballots have been held up and any discovered are immediately sent out for delivery.
U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan ordered Postal Service inspectors or designees to conduct sweeps in Central Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Detroit, Colorado/Wyoming, Atlanta, Houston, Alabama, Northern New England, Greater South Carolina, South Florida, Lakeland, and Arizona. Many states require receipt of all mailed ballots by the end of Tuesday.
