ANN ARBOR, MI (WTVB) – Rocky Lombardi threw three touchdowns as Michigan State University upset their arch rival University of Michigan 27-24 at the Big House in Ann Arbor Saturday.
Lombardi threw for 323 yards in the win as the Spartans moved to 1-and-1 on the year. Ricky White hauled in eight catches for 196 yards and a score while Conner Heyward had two catches, both for touchdowns in the win.
Joe Milton threw for 300 yards for the Wolverines as they fell to 1-and-1. Hassan Haskins ran for 56 yards and a touchdown and Blake Corum ran for two scores in the loss.
The first five spots in this week’s Top-25 Coaches’ Poll remain unchanged. Clemson remains number-one at 7-and-0 following Saturday’s 34-28 win over Boston College. Alabama, Ohio State, Notre Dame and Georgia still round out the top-five.
The University of Michigan plummeted 11 spots to 25th.
