UNDATED (WHTC-AM/FM) โ A couple of corporate moves were announced on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2020.
Due to a $2 million, performance-based Michigan Business Development Grant, the Governorโs office proclaimed that generic drug maker Perrigo will establish a new North American Corporate Headquarters as part of Michigan State Universityโs Grand Rapids Innovation Park off of Monroe Avenue. The facility will house the US-based executive team, as well as certain senior corporate functional and business unit leaders, brining 140 jobs out of Allegan and into the Calder City.
Seven years ago, Perrigo executed a corporate tax inversion after acquiring Irish-based Elan and established its world headquarters in Dublin. Todayโs announcement didnโt state a timetable for when the North American move to Grand Rapids would take place, but it would โaugmentโ the companyโs existing presence in West Michigan that dates back to 1887.
Also on Tuesday, Joseph A Magnus & Co. announced the relocation of its premium bourbons and dry gins operations from Washington, DC, to Holland, effective this Saturday. Establishing in Cincinnati in 1892, the company moved to the nationโs Capital five years ago, and will now share talent and production space with Coppercraft Distillery. Founder Joseph Magnus has a Michigan background, donating a tract of land nearly 100 years ago on the shores of Little Traverse Bay to the city of Petoskey which eventually led to Magnus State Park.
