CLEVELAND, OH (WKZO AM/FM) – Mid-American Conference presidents are scheduled to meet virtually today and could vote to reinstate the fall football season. In early August the MAC became the first Football Bowl Subdivision school to put all fall sports on hold due to Covid-19. If the season is allowed to begin, teams will play a six to eight-game schedule with a possible championship game at Ford Field in mid-December.
The conference includes Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, and Western Michigan University.
The Pac-12 is reversing course and will play football this fall after all. The seven-game schedule starts Friday, November 6th, with the Pac-12 championship December 18th. No fans will be allowed. The Pac-12 announced in August it was postponing all fall sports due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Mountain West is also reversing course on playing football this fall. The conference announced that it will return to action on October 24. The conference will play an eight-game schedule with the Mountain West Championship Game on December 19.
